Who We Are

When not tending to the garden, Rachel and Caitlin are both nurses and full-time graduate students.

5 years ago, we planted a small flower garden and noticed that our family and friends quickly gravitated to our newly planted flowers. Fast forward a year later, and we were in the midst of the 2020 COVID pandemic. As nurses, we saw firsthand how this virus bred isolation and prematurely took many lives. Our goal was to promote our flower garden because picking flowers meant that people could enjoy the outdoors, express their inner creativity, and enjoy an activity safely and independently. Over time, our vision grew, and our farm became a safe and inclusive space for everyone.

Rachel

  • My favorite part of the farm is watching how the vibrant beauty of wildflowers entwines with the graceful flight of egrets and herons. The farm is my sanctuary that showcases the wonders of nature and allows me to find solace and joy in our very busy but amazing world.

  • Favorite flowers: Dahlias and sunflowers

Caitlin

  • My favorite part of the farm is all the wildlife we have. I especially love watching our large waterfowl (cranes, herons, egrets) raise their families here.

  • Favorite flower: forget-me-nots (but they don’t make good cut flowers)
